Principal’s Desk

With the rich history of three decades of providing quality dental education, the institute has come a long way in producing competent and skilled dental surgeon. Today we boost of an adequate infrastructure, faculty, facilities and clinical material that are required to produce quality dental graduates.  There is individual attention for each and every student in the college as number of admissions for the undergraduate program is limited to forty per year. Our primary aim is not only to produce skilled dental surgeons but an ethical, well rounded professional dentist who can take up the entrepreneurial role of running a successful life, as our moto is “good individual first and then good dental surgeon”.

🎗️ INDIA CAN Torch – Oral Cancer Awareness Event 2026

S.B. Patil Institute for Dental Sciences & Research, Bidar organized the “INDIA CAN Torch – Oral Cancer Awareness Event of 2026” to create awareness about oral cancer, its risk factors, early detection, prevention, and the importance of maintaining good oral health.

The programme was organized by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology of S.B. Patil Institute for Dental Sciences & Research, Bidar, under the aegis of the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists Association.

As part of the awareness campaign, students and faculty actively participated in oral cancer awareness poster-making activities. The posters highlighted important messages about early detection, prevention, tobacco avoidance, healthy lifestyle practices, and regular oral examinations.

An oral cancer awareness rally was also conducted, with students and faculty carrying awareness banners and spreading important messages among the public. The initiative encouraged people to recognize early warning signs and seek timely professional care.

The awareness programme also included a public awareness activity aimed at communicating the dangers of tobacco and other risk factors associated with oral cancer. The campaign emphasized that early detection can significantly improve the chances of successful treatment.

The main awareness event was held on 31 August 2026 and brought together the Management, Principal, Faculty, Staff and Students. The programme included awareness sessions, speeches, student participation and recognition of participants.

Certificates were presented to students for their active participation in the awareness activities. The event provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their creativity and commitment towards promoting oral health awareness in the community.
